North Coast Regional Landcare Network – Cultural Knowledge Toolkit

North Coast Regional Landcare Networks (NCRLN) was funded to deliver Stage 1 under the NSW Landcare Enabling Program 2023-2027 Aboriginal Partnerships based on a proven track record working with local Aboriginal communities, Landcare state programs, and employing and supporting an Aboriginal-identified role.

The project purpose is to provide feedback to the Landcare NSW Aboriginal Partnerships Framework, build cultural awareness locally and regionally, and identify collaborative opportunities.

The Aboriginal Landcare Officer (ALO) led on-ground engagement including a series of ‘Walking Together Workshops’ with the support of the team co-designing the approach and priorities.

A specialist delivery partner: https://www.burbangana.com.au was contracted to provide structured feedback into the Framework, support reporting and develop the Toolkit intended as a guide for Landcare Networks and groups on the NSW North Coast.

The project has been successful because of connected ways of working; Feedback loops between NCRLN, ALO, the Burbangana Group, Aboriginal and Local Landcare stakeholders ensured culturally safe spaces, and practical outputs.
